In the previous year, the goats visited this location to help alleviate the pressure from the vegetation on this electric horse fence. This year, the owners were ready for mechanical interventions to make this an area that will be easily maintained for years to come! The electric fence will be more efficient and safe with the improvements - AND it looks tidy!
This is a very small sample of the great work that the goats were able to do at Native Roots Farm Foundation's new location in Georgetown! They cleared overgrown brush within the trees on approximately 4 acres of the land in an eco-friendly way that was consistent with their organization's mission!
The goats were able to clear out the excess vegetation to reveal exactly what was keeping the homeowner from maintaining this area. There was quite a bit of Wisteria and English Ivy in this space and the goats were able to improve access to the area to make a plan for next steps!
This is one portion of a job in a neighborhood in Seaford where the goats came in handy as a first step to reclaiming this backyard and property line. The Wisteria and English ivy has taken over and the owner wanted to have better visibility to make decisions on next steps to clear out the large Wisteria vines and make this land easy to maintain and to plant native plants to support pollinators! This job took the goats a couple of days to clear out enough brush so we could finish clearing out this little area to create a cleaner landscape that will be easier to maintain in the spring. The holly trees are able to breathe without the stickers strangling them, the bigger logs and limbs cleared, and unwanted saplings removed.
